Matlab

The "Matlab scripts" package runs within Matlab and supports Tucker-Davis hardware besides common soundcards.
The other packages do NOT require Matlab to be installed in the computer.

System requirements

Software

Windows - none

Matlab scripts - Matlab version 6.x or newer. Some adjustments will be necessary to make VibroToolbox run in previous versions of Matlab. Script versions (.m files) of the figures are provided in the code to circumvent the fact that the figures are created in Matlab R13.2 .

Hardware

VibroToolbox itself does not demand many resources, and unless you record 4 channel files with high sampling rates and multiple points per file, you should not need much memory or processing power.

Although VibroToolbox can run in a Pentium 2 at 233 MHz, it will be more more convenient to use a Pentium 4 at 2 GHz with 512 MB of RAM memory. You might need a few dozen megabytes up to several gigabytes of hard disk space, depending on the kind of data that you are collecting.

Matlab script version
5 MB of free hard disk space

Installation / Removal

Windows

Installation
1- Download vibrotoolbox-0.9.x.x.windows.exe and double-click on it.
2- Follow the instructions on the screen.

Removal
1- Go to Start-Settings-Control Panel-Add/Remove Programs.
2- Select VibroToolbox from the list of programs.
If you saved files into the VibroToolbox folder, this folder will not be deleted during the uninstall process.

Automatic setup (Windows only)
Installation
1- Unzip the VibroToolbox files into a folder.
2- Open Matlab.
3- Enter cd foldername, where foldername is the folder where you put the VibroToolbox files ex: cd ′c:\program files ibrotoolbox′.
4- Enter Setupvibrotb.
When done, enter vibrotb at Matlab′s prompt to run VibroToolbox.

Manual setup
1- Unzip the VibroToolbox files into a folder.
2- Open Matlab.
3- Add the folder where you put the VibroToolbox files and it′s \help folder to Matlab′s path or cd into it
4- run vibrotoolbox.m

What does the auto setup do? All it does is to place a sruler.m file in your matlab\work folder. The \work folder is in Matlabs path by default. Then you only need to enter vibrotb in Matlab′s prompt to run the program.

Removal
1- Back up the files that you might have saved into the folder where VibroToolbox is installed.
2- Delete VibroToolbox′s directory.
